Members of Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP) attacked Heavily Feast Worship centre in Kottayam. The activists pelted stones at the center and reportedly injured some people. The SNDP people purportedly follow Sri Narayana Guru (1855-1928), Kerala’s most renowned social reformer of the century, who preached religious peace and brotherhood of humanity. Some Yogam activists entered the Heavenly Feast worship centre and destroyed the furniture inside the centre. Police forcefully removed them. Later they also pelted stones at the worship centre. They also threatened the believers who came for worship at the Heavenly Feast. Police had to burst tear gas shells to disperse the violent mob. To avoid any untoward incidents the heavenly feast authorities, have cancelled worship at the centre for sometime. The Heavenly Feast authorities termed the incident as “unfortunate.” The Yogam activist alleged the Christian center was engaged in converting Hindus. The Yogam has branch office near the center. |
